Two weeks ago I saw a giant ant (might be a carpenter) walking on my kitchen floor then I squash it. Just two days ago I saw another one running on my carpet floor in my computer room on the 2nd floor. I was observing it and it was running up wires at the back of my computer so I hit it and it got alarmed and it runs so fast. I started to observe it some more then after I put a "see-through plastic container" near it so it goes in. After a while I managed to get it inside then I closed it. It was really alarmed and was trying to open the container to escape. I looked at it and it was black with a little of red. I think it may be a carpenter ant. But, should I be concerned? There was two of the exact kind of ant in my house. And how do you think it got in?

Also check the exterior of you home for holes or cracks and fill them with caulking.
