Giant Swallowtail Butterfly?

i'm doing a science project about the giant swallowtail butterfly and i wanted to know if it had any adaptations to its enviroment? i looked on google but i can't seem to find any. links would be helpful. thanks :)

  1. One adaptation is their large wings.  In the later part of the season you will notice the butterflies wing are tattered.  This is because bird try to catch them and all they get is a piece of wing.  Another adaptation is their long tongue.  It coils up like a hose on a reel.  It can reach deep into many flowers that other nectar feeders can't reach.


  2. I believe they can survive well in almost any environment, like there friends the Tiger Swallowtail which can survive any place in North America and mass migrate to Mexico.

    That displays a strong independent method of survival that has evolved and adapted.

    So to answer your question, I don't think they have to adapt. They did that already in their evolution.
