Question:

Giant plants?

Used to know some people who had a garden full of giant breeds of plants.

I'm wondering ~ how are plants made to grow to giant size?

Also, wouldn't giant plants help us reduce carbon dioxide? (not all the CO2 obviously...)

  1. I believe that plants are made to grow to giant size by genetic engineering.  This is if you are talking about specific plant breeds.

Hopefully you will get a horticulturist who will be able to give you a better answer.

Here is a link to an interesting article about how tiny particles can change how much carbon that a plant can asorb.

  2. well  my  plants  are  just  normal  size  ..care  for  them  as  one  does   have  big  and  small , equally  important   ..being  small  not  a  problem  being  giant now  that  could  be  problem  ...think  you  would  have  to  use   not  so  nice  feed  to  grow  giants  unnaturally ..you  want  to  help  co2  just  plant  more  younger  plants  use  up  more  co2  than  old  ones  so  plant  more  young  plants  ...watch  them  grow  ..nice  ..

  3. I think the Chinese astronauts once put plant seeds into the space planets and let it grow for a few months. The plants then grow twice or triple sizes as it were so small on the earth before. Yes, the plants can reduce carbon dioxide by photosynthesis of growing process of absorbing carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Why green living is good and healthy for our community.
