Giants' defensive end Justin Tuck displeased with his performance – NFL News
The woes of New York Giants’ defensive end increase when he compares his current performance with the outstanding class he displayed during the last season of the National Football League. He has expressed displeasure over his
form and admitted that he is not a good player this season.
He had a memorable last season where he recorded 99 tackle and 11.5 sacks. The neck and the groin injuries have forced him out of four games in this season, but his stats in the games he has played so far are still not impressive.
Tuck is capable of doing much more than that. He knows it and is extremely frustrated about it.
“I am not me," confessed Tuck. "I am not a very good player right now. It's frustrating because I do look at myself on film and I don't like what I see, and it's not the effort. I feel like I am putting forth the effort. It's some
things not allowing me to play my style of football.”
The 28-year-old defensive end was drafted by Eagles in the 2005 NFL Draft. Since then he has stayed with the franchise and has overall statistics of 42.5 sacks. This season, he only has 10 tackles and 2.0 sacks.
Giants are the leading the National Football Conference East division with six wins and three defeats. However, Tuck’s performance has remained a cause of concern for his team that needs him to gear up. Tuck is committed to bring
improvement in his game and help his team win the future matches. Giants will face Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.
“Obviously, I am not having the year that I normally have, but it's just part of it," Tuck said. "Sometimes, you are going to have things acting up on you that don't allow you to do the things you want to do to make you a good
football player. That's neither here nor there.”
Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, in an attempt to support Tuck, has said that the player evaluates his performance more critically than anyone else. He was of the view that every player has a bad-patch and said that
Tuck was coming out of it gradually.
