Giants' defensive end Justin Tuck misses practice for second straight day – NFL News
Owing to a toe injury, New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck missed the team’s practice session for the second straight day on Thursday, raising doubts on his participation in the game against Washington Redskins on Sunday.
When asked about his availability for the game, Tuck said that he was still unaware about it and that his inclusion in the line-up would be a game-time decision. Responding to a query, he said he was trying his best to recover
and play the game to help his team win.
“I don’t know. I’m just trying to do everything day to day to give me the best opportunity to go out there and help the football team win. Hopefully we’ll find out something tomorrow or the next day, but I don’t think the decision
will be made until Sunday,” Tuck said.
Tuck started his professional career with the Giants in the year 2005. He’s been a regular starter since last few years, but this season injuries have prevented him from being hundred per cent. He started eight of the nine games
he has played this season and recorded a total of 24 tackles and 3.0 sacks.
Giants are a little bothered by the injuries of their players as they head towards the end of the regular season. Last week, they ended their four-game losing streak after defeating Dallas Cowboys to keep their playoff hopes alive.
At the moment, they are tied for the first place the Cowboys (7-6) in the National Football Conference East division. Both the teams need to win their last three games of the regular season to secure a playoff spot.
Tuck was also concerned about the injuries and said that it was frustrating to lose the games earlier.
“I think the injuries have taken a toll, but no one wants to hear that because every team has their injuries. It is frustrating, to say the least, that we have not played better. I wish I had the answers to tell you why that is,”
the defensive end said.
Meanwhile, Giants’ coach Tom Coughlin said that he could not tell about the status of Tuck’s injury, but hoped that the player would recover and attend the practice session on Friday.
