Giants’ injured defensive end Justin Tuck uncertain about future games – NFL News
New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck is proud of his teammates, who defeated Dallas Cowboys on Sunday to end the team’s four-game losing streak, but it seems that he will not be able to team up with them in some of the future
games.
He played against the Cowboys with an injured toe and underwent an MRI after the game to ascertain the nature of his injury. His participation against Washington Redskins in the week-15 game is not confirmed, but he hopes to play
the game.
“I don’t know, I have no clue,” he said. “Sometimes these things, they flame up for a couple of days and couple days later you feel 100 per cent. I am hoping that’s the case. The results of the MRI will tell a lot.”
Tuck is into his seventh professional season after being drafted by the Giants in the year 2005. This season, he has started eight of the nine played games, where he recorded 24 tackles and 3.0 sacks.
Tuck is Giants’ defensive captain. Against Cowboys, the Giants were already short of players on the defensive line. A few of them played the game despite their injuries, and Tuck felt that it was his responsibility to be there
on the field and give strength to the team’s defence.
“We’re already shorthanded. I knew Tollefson had a knee injury, Osi was not there. I was just trying to fight through it and give them a body out there,” he said.
The Giants are tied for first placed with the Cowboys in the National Football Conference East division. They have got three games left in the regular season. They will face the Redskins this Sunday and will take on New York Jets
in the week 16 before once again battling with the Cowboys in the final game of the season.
Tuck hopes to play the rest of the games to make sure that his team wins all of them and secure a playoff-spot. However, he said that if his injury persists, then he will have to be more careful about his health.
