Giants’ linebacker Michael Boley not bothered by coach Tom Coughlin’s criticism – NFL News
New York Giants are not exactly groping in the dark, yet, but it seems as if the two recent defeats have taken their toll on all over Giants.
Giants lost against San Francisco 49ers 27-20 in the week 10 game of the National Football League current season. Following it was another defeat in the week 11 when Philadelphia Eagles overcame them 17-10.
The defeats prompted Giants’ coach Tom Coughlin to vent his frustration out in the form of harsh criticism on the performance of players especially on the team's offense. He had said that the performance of the team’s offense against
Eagles was miserably awful, and termed it ‘pathetic’.
The same views were expressed by running back Brandon Jacobs who also criticised Giants’ game-play against Eagles. According to him, in his careers of seven years, it was the worst performance he had witnessed.
Ensuing the criticism on offense, came the response of injured linebacker Michael Boley who is not bothered by the stern remarks and has said that he does not care about what the coach thinks.
"I mean, it's his assessment," said Boley. "I've always said, coaches coach, players play. We (are) in the trenches. We really know what goes on out there. For someone on the side to say this doesn't happen, it doesn't mean nothing
to me."
However, the coach was also least bothered by what the linebacker had said. After Boley’s response, he said that he was not worried about them.
"I'm not going to embarrass any one individual, nor am I going to speak before I think about it. But when you're upset the way I was upset, I don't really think there's anyone who would take a real issue with what I said," the
coach said.
Giants were leading the National Football Conference East division before the loss against Eagles. The defeat has taken their number of failures this season to four. With six victories to their credit and an average of 364.6 yards
(281.4 passing yards and 83.2 rushing yards) per game, they now hold second spot in the division ranking. They are going to face NFC South leader-board New Orleans Saints (7-3) in the week 12 encounter.
