Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle not losing hope, wants to fight till the end – NFL News
Despite the recent drop-down that cost New York Giants the top position in the National Football Conference East division, safety Antrel Rolle believes that his team still has a very strong chance of making it to the playoffs and said that Giants are not going to go down without putting up a strong fight.
Giants were leading the NFC East division, but lost three consecutive games recently that pushed them down to the second spot and allowed Dallas Cowboys to become in-charge of the division.
They have five more games left to play in the regular season, and they should win them all to keep the competition alive. The task will not be easy as they are now going to face unbeaten Green Bay Packers in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
No matter how strong the competition is, Rolle said that he and his team will not give up and is going to fight till the end.
“I don’t care how we fight, I don’t care what corner we’re going to back ourselves up to, and you know what, everyone might be off the Giants bandwagon which is fine, which is fine. We’ve only had us anyways and only need us to get to where we need to get to,” he said.
The recent slump has also disappointed the Giants’ fans, who had huge expectations from their team. A few of them are angry as well, and criticised the players and the management badly for the poor performance. Rolle was of the view that it is always good to have fans’ support, but he maintained that if the fans do not want to support the team, the players are not going to be bothered.
“If the fans want to be there, then be there. We would love to have you, we’ll be happy you’re there and appreciate you. But if you’re not there, if you jump off the bandwagon, that’s fine too,” the safety said
Earlier, defensive end Justin Tuck also called for keeping the fighting spirits alive and said that Giants are treating the rest of the games as the playoffs.
