Giardia. Am i going to get this?

I went to a restaurant, and the bartender said her dog had giardia. After I heard that I put some Purell on, and left the restaurant. when I got home I washed my hands etc. Am i going to get this awful sickness

Giardia is transmitted through contact with human or animal waste.

the only way that you would have to be worried is if your bartender touched his dogs stool then didnt wash his hands and touched something that you ingested.

as you can see, this is very unlikely. plus if the bartender knows that his dog has it, then the dog is most likely being treated, making transmission all the way to you even more unlikely
