  1. For now yes.

  2. Yes - all shops etc speak English. Many of the workers come over the border from Spain each day so their first language is not English but the Gibraltarians all have perfect English.

  3. British not English. The official language is English.

  4.   Yes GIB.,is more English than we in the UK are, and yes the language is universally spoken. Many of the shop keepers are north African though and sell a lot of electrical goods. Jewelery is is plentiful but their gold is all 14crt. It is vertualy a one street island, up the hill and down again.

You can and should haggle when buying. Good luck enjoy your holiday.

  5. GIB people have their own language and a culture all of their own. My feeling was they want to stay British but more to avoid becoming Spanish. However their attitude to visitors is fine, like any UK resort really. Does feel odd though with a Boots, Safeway (or would it be Morrisons by now??) etc and normal pubs up the high street. British looking policemen, red post boxes, UK Traffic lights etc but they do drive on the wrong side of the road!
