The son Gibson Country, out of mare Megan’s Cracker, Gibson was running over dirt since the time he broke his maiden at Tam Bay Downs on 22 April, 2011, under Angel Quinones over at five and a half furlongs, where he defeated other maiden claimer hopefuls

Sprint Handicap caste.
The 3-year-old gelding succeeded in his mission as he steadily pulled away to extend his advantage and win the race by six and a half lengths over the favourite, Pashito the Che, who was unlucky to be in the same race as Gibson.
Gerald Bennett after the race said “He ran an awesome race, he’s been running against some nice horses at Presque Isle. He just wasn’t liking that Tapeta track, which they changed this season and which wasn’t playing too kind to speed horses.”
It was a perfect race for Gibson as he notched up his previous Beyer Speed Figure up to 19 points to register a whopping 95 Beyer in the Jack Dudley Sprint Handicap.
Gibson tried breaking his maiden at Tampa Bay Downs on 12 January, 2011, at his first attempt but failed miserably under W Galviz and finished eight after setting the pace but weakening when it really mattered.
