"Narine is a very fast learner. When he played his first Test it was on the back of very little first-class cricket and he had made his name in limited-overs cricket," Gibson said while speaking to media reporters in Barbados before the team's departure for Bangladesh.

The 24-year-old Trinidad off-spinner has to date played just three Tests, one away and two home, and has 12 wickets in his name, including a five-wicket haul. However, he gave match-winning performances in the home Test series against New Zealand, played in August, claiming 12 scalps, as the Windies whitewashed the Black Caps in the two-match series.
