Everton midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darron-Gibson-c10368 expressed his confidence that his side will be better prepared in their FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool.
The Toffees made it into the last four by beating Sunderland 2-0 in their repeat quarterfinal clash at the Stadium of lights. By doing so, they set up a mouth-watering encounter against their Merseyside rivals, Liverpool.
The Irish International warned the Reds of a better fight from the Toffees this time around, having lost to the Anfield Side 3-0 in their Premier League match, two weeks ago. He shrugged off the disappointed of losing to Liverpool at Anfield and urged his
side to put that drubbing behind them.
"I was at the derby and it was disappointing, now we’ve got to forget about that." Gibson told The Mail Online.
Everton are vying to win the FA Cup for the sixth time, having triumphed in 1906, 1933, 1966, 1984 and 1995. The club have also finished as runner-ups on eight occasions.
The Toffees lost the final 2-1 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in 2009 at Wembley.
However, Gibson said that his side have put a lot of hard work since their defeat against the Reds and have come a long way since then.
"It will be a different prospect for them, as [we will have] probably our strongest side. We had worked all week on our game plan, pulled it off and played really well at Sunderland.”
Everton booked their place in the last four by beating Sunderland 2-0 while Liverpool made it into the semis by edging Stoke City 2-1 in the quarterfinal.
Gibson also heaped praise at striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikica-Jelavic-c27906 who scored a goal against the Black Cats and believed his side had dominated the match right from the start.
"We made chances too, which was the main thing and Niki [Jelavic] took his goal well."
