Gift cards for money?

I have a couple of old navy gift cards and i was wondering if i can go into an old navy store and trade them for the money ammount on the card?

That is highly unlikely.

If you could be able to do that then the store wouldn't make any money because its giving back money It made. on the other hand if you spend that gift card there then its still making money because someone still paid for those clothes. If you have any friends that shop at that store you could always switch with them. To prove that there is still money on those cards you could just go online and check the balance of those cards and show them.

Most stores do not let one do that, which makes gift cards a very bad form of gift. One would be better advised to give cash.

Old navy has had some gift cards that were redeemable in cash, but not all of them are.
