Question:

Gift for preschool teacher?

My son is done with preschool and going into kindergarten next year. I'd really like to give her a gift to thank her for how much I appreciate the interest she took in my son. I think she went above and beyond the call of duty. My son has some social anxiety issues and she has really helped him and me try and get to the bottom of it. What kind of gift would be appropriate for her?

  2. A special gift would be a recordable sound card where you can record your child's voice with a message. I found this to a be a wonderful gift that the teacher can never forget.

  5. I think a bouquet of flowers would be beautiful presented to her by your son..

  6. think of a gift that she can use in teaching like  a pen. a special pen that can be refilled.

  7. Nice handmade portraits or paintings made from photos are always a good gift idea. You can find more such ideas at http://www.paintyourlife.com

They make all types of personalized and unique portraits on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas.

The same company also makes wonderful photo prints on canvas in various designs. Visit http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com

  8. I ususally give gift cards to my sons' teachers. You could ask around at the preschool to find out where she likes to shop or eat. That way, she will be able to choose something she really likes.

  9. It's not the gift so much as the consideration of giving one.  I'm sure she would appreciate the acknowledgement of your gratitute by being given a gift.

I'm a daycare provider, and even a simple card makes my day.  Maybe you can have your son make a card for her. Handprints or pictures of him on the card would be good.  If you really want to purchase something for her, I'd give her a gift card, flowers or a  Bath and Body Works (always a hit) product.

  10. When my son attended his last days in preschool, I gave his teachers the baskets that has wheels on the bottom that can be flattened up when not in use and has a pully to pull it. I got this at Lakeshore for $20.00 each. But you can find ones like this at any Office Depot, Staples, or any supplies store for about $14.99 + in the U.S.

Of course, even though they weren't as remarkable teachers as I had hope they would be to my son since they couldn't handle my son more than once, I had to give them something since those 2 teachers were his first teachers of his life. So, yeah, a little thank you card that went with the pully baskets to say thank you for helping him (in some ways.. =P )..

They loved it and started using it the same day I gave it to them.. to put all their books, papers, equipment stuff that they didn't want to leave in the school...

  11. I am a Preschool Teacher. The children we teach are our gift every year we watch them grow and learn. We do not ask for anything. Parents of course always give.

Teachers usually would always like materials for the classroom.  Gift cards to purchase these materials would always be welcome.  But always the children would be our gift.

  12. Get like a mug or somethng with a  'no. 1 teacher' or 'best teacher in the world' saying on it. It would be something she can keep and use quite often. And i'm sure it would make her smile lol

Or even get him to draw her a picture and frame it :)

  13. I think having your son make a card for her and enclosing a little gift certificate to like Bath and Body Works or finding out what she likes.

  14. As always, the Thank you hallmark card is the best, they even have them with kids singing in them. You don't want to buy a "gift gift" because you don't really know her personally, and ettiquette says that's rude. so get a nice card and have your son to sign it with you and maybe write her s little something saying how helpful she was to you and your son this past year and how much you appreciate her time and patience working with your child. That will make her feel really good and she may even put that in her photo album at home as a keepsake, heck you might even get one good tear outta her! I hope this helps.GL.

  15. I am a preschool teacher. Hanging flower baskets are very nice. Gift certificates are wonderful also. A card signed by your child is special. I like candles and Bath and Body stuff also. However, we do get a lot of that type of stuff. We also get tons of teacher knick-knacks and mugs.

One of the nicest things you can do is send a letter of appreciation and praise to her boss, principal and/or the Board of Education, expressing how helpful she was, etc.

  16. what ever suits her (perfume)

  17. Teachers get so many knick-knacks and stuff - why not get her something she can use for the kids in her classroom, like a book or 2?  Check Usborne Books for some great, educationald and fun options:  http://www.ubah.com/g2687

  18. you should get her a mug and some flowers

  19. how about one of those coffee cups that a child can draw on?  you can put a gift card inside for a local coffee house.  or, a nice selection of hot teas inside the cup.

  20. that was really nice
