Question:

Gift for teachers?

I am part of my school's PTSO, and I am looking for a gift from the PTSO to give to each teacher. Obviously it must be less than $15, and I am not interested in any boring mugs, ornaments, nick-nacks whatever. Oh, and it can't be alcoholic or gift cards. What can I get that will be appreciated by over 100 teachers?!?

  1. Books are always good gifts. Gary Dominicus

  2. good grades :P i know that is disgusting :D

  3. I would LOVE classroom supplies!! That way it would not come out of MY pocket!! At the beginning of this school year the parent action committee gave all of us teachers a basket filled with pens, highlighters, papers, whiteout, etc. It felt like Christmas morning =)

  4. I know I liked what our PTO has given in the past. We each got a nice tote. Also we all were very happy getting hanging plants. Most teachers love pictures of their classes too.

  5. I guess it depends on what grade level you are talking about.  If it is elementary my idea would be to make a sort of "year book" for the teachers.  Each class could do it collectively as a single gift.  Take photos of each child in poses depicting their individual personalitites. Then upload the photos to a photo printing service such as Shutterfly.  They will make it into a type of "brag book" in which you can select any type of backgrounds. Then pass the books around to each kid to sign with a nice message.  The cheapest book is around $12.99

    Good Luck

  6. There is a wonderful book called "Mrs. Spitzer's Garden".  You could give a copy of this book to each teacher with a note about how they help children grow. It is such a sweet book! Find it on www.amazon.com.

  7. Well try thinking of what they like and thier own personality or what they like to do something simple means alot out school is dioing a assembly for i teacher for being just a great teacher that will mean alot to her just something simple like a cute pic of you two together or what they like to do!!

  8. an apple.....cheap and good for them!! hehe.

  9. How about a good box of chocolates. like Sees candy. They are awsome, under $15 and i'm sure most teachers will love it

  10. you should buy somthing for the staffroom that all the teachers

would appreciate like a coffee machine or a microwave!!!

    hope this helps

  11. Try making some kind of art project.

  12. WOW. Nothing like making it hard. My suggestion. A Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Make it a pot luck done by the PTSO. Trying to separate gifts for 100 teachers and you eliminate gift cards is pretty tough.

Another idea would be what I call TIE BLANKETS.

YOu get some soft materials and put 2 sides together.

Problem is MAN HOURS and COST.

It would put you right at the 15.00 max and the man hours to make one are about 60 to 90 minutes, maybe even 2 hours.

Its the Prep that takes the longest.

  13. gift card to eat out somewhere or to a book store.

  14. We have a great PTO!  They made us lunch one day, purchased small Gerber Daises, have done gift baskets with paperclips, Sharpies, highlighters, and note pads, as well as given us a gift card to a book store so we could buy items for our classroom.

A student once gave me the book Mrs. Spitzer's Garden.  She had the entire class sign the inside cover.  I treasure it.  It was such a thoughtful gift.  Maybe you could purchase the books for your teachers and have their students sign it when they are in enrichment's (art, music, etc.).

    Good luck!  Hope this helps.

  15. I think it is not a good idea to give gifts to teachers and some teachers do not accepts them.

So u should ask firsts? pens . custom pens with thier name on them to make it personal.
