Question:

Gift for young Rupert?

The son of my old school chum has a birthday at the end of August. I am Godmother to young Rupert so am in the habit of spoiling the little boy.

This year I intended to mark his birthday with a special gift as he turns ten and so I asked him what he would like more than anything. I was horrified when he replied ‘I really want a wee Auntie Connie’. At first I misunderstood and directed him to the little boy’s room but he informed me that he wanted a wee for his birthday.

I am not entirely sure what to make of this request, whether to be angry at his rudeness of mentioning his toilet habits or whether the lad has developed an interest in science (again a worry as saltpetre can be used in explosives)

What should I do?

  1. its a wii computer console he wants

  2. it's a wii, and not a wee, he's after....<^><...

  3. Perhaps a good stern talk with his father about the nasty words coming from his child to a lady of your stature. The shame his family must feel. I would not only get him nothing but perhaps even request his punishment for such a rude and shaming request. At his age he should be more than aware of what he was saying. I simply must go and lay down now, merely hearing of such things has made me feel faint.

  4. It''s a good idea for you to deal with the boy now, as this kind of talk might only worsen with age.

Kids today can be so fresh.

  5. Yea he means the gaming system Wii but if you cant afford that just get him a gift card to local electronics/gaming store.

  6. He was talking about a Nintendo Wii. Its a games console. It is pretty expensive, as are the games.
