She hates barbie, bratz, dora, all that stuff. No baby dolls. This is what she told me. And now I'm stuck. All my idease were crossed out. :-( Ideas? Would it be too young to get a portable game system (like a DS, or a PSP) for her? Thanks for your help!

  1. DS!!!!!!

  2. Jump rope? Coloring books and crayons? Maybe a craft or two.  Or if she is into games get her a Nintendo sp like a DS-- much cheaper and easier to beat up. No touch screen and I think my sister has thrown hers against the wall and it still works. Seems very durable to me?  Good Luck.

  3. You can buy her a creative game. Something that she has to make like a puzzle or something similar to Lego. Maybe a book with origami figures that she can make out of paper.

  4. smart kid -consider the gift of your undevoted time.

  5. my daughter is 5 in 3 weeks.she's getting a DS with cooking mama and nintendogs.she has a brother who is 10 and he has a DS but i never would have got him one at age 5-she's only getting one cos shes a bit advanced for her age and i've seen how well she plays on her brothers. i also found a 5ft trampoline in argos for £40.00 which she will love.shes not into dolls really but loves art stuff.pixel chix are another favourite.has she got a bike? what about a scooter?

  6. My 7yr. old recieved a Leapster for Christmas when she was 6.  She still plays it and loves it.  The games are not only fun, but educational.  They also have games that go up to like 4th grade, so it grows with the child.  I'll have to admit that I even play once in a while, it's fun!!

  7. My daughter hates girlie stuff too. Six is way too young to get her hooked on video games. Have you considered buying some "boys" toys? My daughter loves cars, trucks, soccer balls, anything that rolls. Make up a list of suspect items, things you think she wouldn't like but aren't for sure, and ask the rest of your kids. My boys gave me great pointers for her. I bought her an rc car last year. Wouldn't share it with her brothers either. hahahaha!

  8. my six year old son loves his Nintendo DS, but it tends to draw him in too much...so I have to cut it down to weekends only...I'd rather send him outside to play; have you thought about an outdoor toy which could turn into a hobby for your daughter? skates/ heelies with proper safety equipment? jump rope, how about art stuff, books, or craft items?

  9. I have a 7 yr old son and he loves his ds also his 3 yr old sister loves it too. Another good idea is craft things or crayon sets.

  10. Finally someone who doesn't like all that stuff! :) I think a portable gaming system is a little much for a 6 y/o. When I was that age, I liked arts and crafts and some books.
