My workmates' little boy is quite sick. Not life threatening now but he is still in a lot of distress. He is 2 1/2. I want to send him something that he will love and is easy to play with, around $50.

  1. When my son was in the hospital, a few new DVDs were a God send, Transformers especially. And maybe a Bumblebee Transformer guy, little boys just love him.  Also, a book about being sick and getting better.

  2. um..

    idk

  3. try askin his mum if he wants anythin inparticular

i dont know how much $50 is in english money so id just ave a look at the toys that are in his age range

  4. A teddy, a batman/spiderman toy? Something that flashes and makes noises? Depends what he likes. Does he watch anything on TV (e.g. peppa pig= peppa pig toy??) Ask his mum/dad x

  5. colouring books is a good idea, a helium balloon arrangement looks great and kids love them, you can get all different balloons like trucks, animals, clowns, etc.

  6. colouring books !!! and colours lol  orrr some thign like  lego thats easy can keep kids occupied for hours  or just random knicknacks

  7. How about a cuddly toy?

  8. Aw, that's so sad! I'm sorry! Tell her sorry from me.

Well, any child will love a teddy bear! Do you know the boy's favorite animal? If so, get it in stuffed form. Colouring books are also a good idea, but try coloured pencils instead of crayons--they're less toxic and harder to break. Try not to get anything small, though, because we don't want him to choke on it. If the stuffed animal you are going to get has a bow or small shoe, etc. on it, it can pass.

You can also think of getting him some footie-pajamas to feel more "at home". Does he like Barney or the Telly-Tubbies, or something like that in particular? If so, try to find a poster or two that he can hang up. Another cute toddler idea is building blocks. My neighbor has lots of them and her two little children adore them all. Again, please don't buy them small. If they have soft ones, those are always fun, too :]

Also, try shopping at a toddler store in particular. Don't go to Baby's R Us, though, because they might not have what you're looking for. Target would work, as well. Good luck!!

  9.   I would definitely get him a stuffed animal.  If he doesn't fell up to playing he will have something to hug and there good for if he has to get tests done, because he can squeeze it if he is scared. Some other things are mega doodle, coloring book, small dinosaurs, small cars, lego's, and mega blocks.

  10. I would get him a big teddy bear that he can snuggle and cuddle up with when he is in bed. A hospital can be really overwhelming for children this age, and when he gets scared he can cuddle up to this teddy bear for comofrt.

Maybe find one of those bears that are dressed up in uniforms, like a police teddy or a fireman. Find one that he loves (like if he has an interest in policemen, give him a policeman bear, or even just buy a hat for the bear to make it look like a policeman). Tell him that whenever he gets scared or lonely, this is Officer Bear here to help him and rescue him. All he needs to do is cuddle him and the bear will protect him.

  11. My daughter was in the hospital for her 3rd b-day and people brought her gifts and one of the BEST one's she got and she loves it was a head phone set my husband bought it for her at wal-mart and it played all kids songs that was GREAT and then she got coloring books and crayons and a stuffed animals.  hope that helps

  12. mr potatoe head

puzzles and books (i made a cute one of pics of the family for my son, LOVES IT!)

    coloring/art supplies

movies he can play at the hospital

games - like high ho cherrio - simple counting game

    flash cards

you can get a few of these for $50 - GL!

  13. What about getting him a few simple gifts which add up to a total of $50?  Then you can wrap them in bright paper, which he will have fun unwrapping them, and have loads of stuff (try jigsaw puzzles and books and maybe a big pad of paper and coloured pens/pencils) to play with!

Hope this helps, and hope he gets well soon!

  14. Make him a special Build a Bear and dress it like his favorite character. My daughter got a specially made bear dressed like Shrek when she was in the hospital and she still LOVES it. I thought it was a super thoughtful gift, since the giver actually made it for her.
