Gift ideas for biology teacher?

Question

My class would like to give a gift to our bio teacher for being so dedicated and for doing a great job teaching. We'd like the gift to be thoughtful and USEFUL. Not something that would sit on a shelf and collect the dust. Something that I'm thinking of right now would be pencils with the teacher's name on them or a message of some sort.

Any ideas?

The best gift I have ever gotten from a class was a notebook with notes from each student telling me what new thing they learned in my class and how I might have helped them, made their day better etc. I will always cherish this gift.  Your class is a kind group of students that recognize a valuable teacher!! Teachers do not hear how great they are that often.
