Question:

Gift suggestion for camp aide (he just finished high school)?

My 8 and 5 yr old kids were in a summer camp where they had a really good aide. He graduated from high school in June. He was very good with my kids in the different activities, and was especially patient with my younger one.

I am planning to give him a gift card for around $25, but cannot decide on which store? I don't know much about what he does and likes, and there is no time to find out by asking him or others in camp.

Am trying to decide between Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Target? Any other suggestions? I'd like it to be a card for a store, not just a debit/AMEX card with money on it. I think he is taking a year off before college.

  1. I'd go with Target. Even if he normally doesn't shop there (who doesn't though?) he can find something to buy. If you buy him Starbucks (and he is not a Starbucks fan) you're money would be wasted. I personally don't like their coffee. If I were the aide, I would give the gift card away.

Another good idea would be a gas card or gift certificates to the local movie theater.

  2. I was going to say like Bed Bath and Beyond for college, but you sad he is waiting a year. How about Dukin Donuts or Starbucks? Maybe a giftcard to the local mall? Or how about a gas card?
