Gifts for a yet to be born baby?

I'm not going to see a friend of mine for about a year and she's having a baby at the end of the month, so i'm wondering should i give her presents for the to be born child now?

if so , do you have any gift ideas?

My favorite place to get and give gifts of any kind is http://www.etsy.com .  Some users to search for are "OhMyMommyClementine," "Knottybabywear," and "AureliaandAnnalise" . My mom friends always seem to be needing more booties for their babies, though I've also been told that after giving birth, everyone comes to see the baby, and it's almost like they've forgotten about the woman who did the work! Get her something for herself too!

It's so nice that you want to get her a gift and I think it's a great idea! Since you won't know the s*x of the baby, you should get a neutral gender gift. Here are some adorable ideas:

One of my favorite gifts that I received was a womb sounds bear. They are inexpensive, but really neat. You can get them at wal mart. I would probably mail her a small gift to let her know you are thinking about her.

Or maybe just a gift card from Wal-Mart or Target or her favorite place to shop where there is baby stuff....this always nice for the new parent to get things they really enjoy or for diapers.        Hope it helps!!

Send her a gift now...New mommies have all those hormones that cause them to act nutty when they think their dear friends have forgotten them!

First, check her registry.  It's frustrating for first time mommies who need so much, not to get what they 'need' from their registry.  If she already has a lot, try something heartfelt and handmade.  One of my favorite sites is www.WaddleBug.com.  They carry handmade gifts you can't find anywhere else, and the quality is fantastic.  I think they will ship anywhere you want during checkout just specify.  A handmade gift like a quilt would be an heirloom item from a dear friend.
