Im having a co-ed shower, I will have a little money to spend on gifts since the games are so simple, and we are just BBQing.

Most of us ae in our 20's besides family.. Alot of us are into metal, punk, tattoos.. Just younger..

What should I give as prizes? I was thinking maybe 1 or 2 best buy gift cards for $25 for the bigger games, but what else?

  1. Simple and in-expensive!  The shower is for the guest(s) of honor, so you wouldn't want to out-do any of their gifts!  If you have a local dollar store, go and pick up a few things there.  You can sometimes get really nice seasonal items, or a picture frame, candles, candle holders ect.  You can also get a few items while you are there to decorate with for the party.  My friends and I have done this many times and it works out great--especially when you are on a tight budget!

  2. many times, the gifts given for shower games are actually gifts that the "winner" is meant to give to the guest(s) of honor...such as baby socks, a rattle, or towel/washcloth set.

if you want the regular guests to keep the prize, i like the idea of best buy cards, maybe get $10 cards and have 3 or 4 to give.  everyone can get something they like there.

  3. food is the best gift

    little cheese sandwich crackers

    cheese on toothpicks

    grilled cheese sandwiches

    macaroni and cheese

btw, did i mention i love cheese

  4. $5 gift cards to Coldstone or Carvel, or to Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, or any Fast food place,

    GC for a movie rental

    Gas gift card

    CDs of your favorite singers/bands

Candy!  A little pail with some candy in it.

Snack basket with some chips, candy, etc.

    Fake tattoos, just for fun!

    candles

    shower gels

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great shower!

  5. skip the $25 gift cards- that's a bit too much

$5 gift cards are just fine for games, also how about mini bottles of booze, decks of cards, movies, books, hand held games, household items, Thermos mugs...wander the store and try to find items both sexes would like to receive as a prize and try to keep them in the same price range say $5 limit- that way it is equal for all when getting prizes. you could even get more girly stuff and wrap them in certain paper and guy stuff wrapped in different paper to keep them straight.

  6. Why not some scratch off Lottery tickets is fair and cheap.

maybe some gag gifts (for fun)

    games to play

have all sit around and toss a baby toy Stuffed to each other and they all have to say a baby item such as rattle, spoon, diaper and no one can repeat an answer if do they have to step out of game

Have all guest size the tummy and write it down using a tape measure this is there guess how round it is  who ever is closest wins.

Have all guests take one diaper pin hook to shirt and the rest of the time if someone crosses there legs the have to give up a safety pin which all have hooked to diaper pins ( give all 5 safety pins) This means sitting standing or laying down.

Maybe a huge baby bottle. A tiny tiny diaper for gift after game, with pin game forgot to tell you if catch any one with legs crossed they have to give up pin to person who caught them and the one with the most pins at end of day wins

  7. Beer Coolies

    Wine Glasses

    Decks of Cards

    CD's

    Candles and/or Incense

Gift Certificates for the local Pizza place

    Boxes of Chocolates

    Nacho Chips and Salsa

You get the idea - you know your friends better than me.  Get what you might like and you probably will do just fine.  Don't worry about what's traditional, just have fun with it.  We started having BYOB baby showers a long time ago.  I usually make lots of jello shooters too !!
