Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 has admitted that he is looking forward to representing Great Britain and hopes to make the final cut.
United’s boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson went on to tell most of his squad that they couldn’t represent GB in the Olympics, but the manager made an exception for Giggs.
The veteran might never get the chance to participate in the tournament again and hence he has been allowed to try and play for the team.
At the moment, Giggs has been short listed and will be informed later on if he has made the final cut or not.
When talking about the possibility of playing in the Olympics and representing Britain, the midfielder is reported to have said: "I'm on the shortlist and if I get picked it would be fantastic, I think everyone is excited about the Olympics coming to London
and coming to Britain but obviously I'd have to wait and see if I get picked or not.”

"It is obviously a tournament and I have never been involved [in any]. It will be exciting, I've never experienced it so hopefully it will happen but we will wait and see."
While talking about his Olympic participation, the player also went on to reveal that he was a little disappointed to miss out on winning the Premier League title, despite coming so close to winning it.
When talking about the league and just how it ended, the Welshman went on to state: "It's tough to just lose out in the manner that we did but City won the league and congratulations to them, whoever wins the league deserves it. We just have to go away now
and come back tougher to compete next year."
Giggs is currently being hailed as one of the favourites to be selected to represent Britain as being one of the three players above the age of twenty three who get to do so.
However, at the moment it is up to the player to maintain his fitness and avoid any injuries, or he could miss out on this opportunity to play in the Olympics.
