Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 is looking forward to the upcoming Olympics, as the veteran finally has the chance to play on the international stage.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 international hasn’t managed to secure a lot of international football over his career and as a result, he feels that this upcoming opportunity to represent Great Britain is as good as it gets.
The United midfielder is now thirty eight years old and the way things are going, this could be his last chance to play on the international level for the national side.
When talking about the upcoming tournament, the veteran is reported to have said: "I’ve put myself forward”
“Whether I get picked we’ll have to wait and see. Obviously, everybody is excited about it, about the Olympics coming to London and coming to different parts of Britain."

“I’ve spoken to [head coach] Stuart Pearce but I think the majority of players have. It would be nice to be involved in a tournament atmosphere because I’ve never experienced that.”
Despite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson banning most of his young players from playing in the Olympics, it seems like he was more than willing to let Giggs go on and participate in the tournament.
The Red Devils boss took the veteran’s age into account and knew that if he wasn’t allowed to represent the team this time, he wouldn’t be able to do so, ever again.
Giggs also feels that the upcoming Olympics could see him link up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 once again and the two of them could relive their past achievements.
When talking about the potential link up with his former Manchester United team mate and long term friend, Giggs is reported to have said: “Becks is obviously a friend and he’s a great player and still remains that so, if that was to be, it would be great”

“Obviously, I started my playing career with Becks in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787. Twenty years later, to be still doing that, it would be great. We’ll have to wait and see.”
It is now up to Stuart Pearce to decide whether Giggs can play in the Olympic team or not.
