"The separatist regimes of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and the Russian authorities are cut off from reality," Gigi Tsereteli said in Tbilisi. "The world has already become different and Russia will not long be able to occupy sovereign Georgian territory."

The Occupation of Iraq by the Unites States makes the world the same as 1000 years ago or 100 years ago, your opinion objective America, and world.?

  1. Well it seems US occupation might end, hopefully. After a cost of over half a trillion most borrowed from China. Great!!!

S.O. is not occupied. They had declared themselves independent long time ago, majority of them hold Russian citizenship. So they are Russian citizens. It is S.O. themselves that want to be part of Russia, it is S.O. that is asking Russia to build military camps. S.O. has nothing in common with Georgia, not language not culture, rather Georgia closed a university in S.O. by insulting S.O.'s, there is no need for a University as they have no unique culture or language. S.O.'s hate Georgia. Literally!

So the difference is US attacked Iraq and occupied it. Russian actions are debatable but certainly are not occupying S.O. as S.O are Russian citizens.

  2. The government of Iraq could demand the coalition forces leave next week and it would happen.

The government of Georgia already asked the Russian forces to leave and they were attacked further.

    Not the same I think.

  3. Please stop insulting all the brave souls who have sacrificed so much!

  4. Very narrow minded and short sighted due to the fact that ......

ALL  Iraq has to do is put in writing a draft to the United Nations that they are ready to take over control of their country and the foreign troops will be gone...........but Iraq for all their grand standing and playing to the media won't do this as required by the UN resolution because they want to have the foreign troops there so any security failures fall on the troops heads not Iraq's

In 2007 - The UN SECURITY COUNCIL, acting on  IRAQ’S REQUEST extend the mandate of the multinational force .
