About 30yrs ago when I worked in Carshalton, Surrey, the local bakers sold "Gilbert's Meat Pies", they were excellent! But I have not seen them since moving out of that area. Anyone know if they are still sold in the SE of the UK?

  1. two words: sweeney todd

  2. They must have been very local to Carshalton,I have never heard of them.

  3. Never heard of them even though I was living around there 30 years ago.

A "gilbert" was a slang word for snot, so I expect they went bust :-)

    Good luck!
