I just recieved the same clock as a wedding gift ( it had belonged to my Great grandparents.)  To get teh number of chimes to equal the number of hours, open the back and lift up in the small silver triangle shaped projection on the right near the top front of the clock until it strikes the correct number of times.

To adjust the time I just turn the hands to the correct time.
