Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gilberto-Silva-c14889, has joined Brazilian club, Gremio, on an 18-month deal.
Silva will leave his current club, Panathinaikos, at the end of the 2010/11 season and move to his homeland. The former Arsenal midfielder spent three years with the Greek side and has now decided to move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858.
The club president shared his delight on the signing and believes that the veteran midfielder will help the club in many ways.
Club President, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 Odon told the club’s official website, "We are very happy with this signing. Our commitment is to strengthen further our squad so Gremio will have a great campaign in the Brazilian championship.”
The 2002 FIFA World Cup winner wants to spend the rest of his career in Brazil after successful time with few of the top European clubs. The 34-year-old made more than 200 appearances for the Gunners and was a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitalô-c40903 part of the 2004/05 English Premier League winning ‘Invincibles’.
Keane expects departure from the club
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Robbie Keane, expects that he will be sold to a club outside the English Premier League in the summer transfer window.
Keane was loaned out to relegation struck, West Ham United, in the January transfer window but the striker could not make an impact at the Upton Park. The 30-year-old wants a new opportunity, where he can advice the youngsters, who are coming through from the youth ranks.
"I have only got one year left there [at Tottenham] so I am sure they will probably want to do business on me. The chances in the Premier League for me are fairly slim. For me it is about enjoying my football and playing as much as I can, maybe going to a team where I can maybe help the younger players that are coming through.”
