Gimp!! please help!?

GIMP users, everytime I opened Gimp to windows showed up. Now only one pops up (the one with the tools) How do I open the second window? I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it but that did nothing. The second window was the one with layers. Please help!

File > New or File > Open  opens the workspace window.  You get the rest of the windows:  brushes, layers, and the rest under Dialog.   If you close the program from the first window that is titled GIMP, the rest of the windows will close and reopen when you open the program again.  If you close the other windows first, you have to open them again from Dialog.  You always have to open your workspace window from File > New or  File > Open.

After you start GIMP, open or create a new image. In the new image window click "Dialogs" then click "Layers"
