Question:

Ginepri vs. Federer??

Can Ginepri actually defeat Federer right now? I mean a long time ago Ginepri was a very talented prospect for the United States. He has done very well in some Grand Slam events too. He's having a suprisingly good year and Federer as we all know is having some problems.

If he keeps playing the way he has, so far... can he win this??

  1. Nah. I pick Federer in straight sets.

  2. It is completely WEIRD that Roger is playing the way he is.  You don't go from being virtually unbeatable, to this???!!!

He doesn't have the fear factor in his favour, and he definitely doesn't seem to have the die hard motivation or something. It's odd. He needs to fight for every point again. To really give it 110%.  I feel like he's not moving that well or something. Not seeing the ball as well as before.

  3. These days Federer is beating Federer. No one is really playing so fantastic that they're out maneuvering him. He's making errors like crazy. I dont know why. Its perplexing to everyone (who knows tennis).  Still, he's making finals and no one else is.

  4. How often does a +1000 (Ginepri) lose to a -3300 (Federer)? VERY rarely; those numbers are of course the betting lines for the match...

  5. He played the opposite of how he played in the Simon match. In the Simon match, he came out smoking Simon winning the first set 6-2, then buckled at the end of the 2nd set and again in the 3rd to lose. In the Ginepri match, he buckled early losing the first set tie break and appeared to have lost the match with Ginepri serving for the win in the 2nd set. Fed breaks, forces a tie break, wins it, then smokes Ginepri 6-0 in the 3rd set.

The most positive thing is that Federer is firing aces again. In the Simon match Federer's first serves were atrocious and is why he lost. Everybody and his dog says the same thing: Federer's forehand failed him. Federer's forehand is bad. Federer's forehand is letting him down. Well anyone who watches the matches can see Federer's forehands are fine @_@ he lost to Simon because he couldn't get any first serves in for whatever reason. And his forehand was hardly the reason he lost to Nadal all year...I'm getting sick of this bad forehand nonsense that everyone uses to try to explain Federer's losses.

Well it wasn't pretty at the start of the match but Federer won!! Doesn't get any easier vs Karlovic...yikes :p

  6. I wish I knew what was going on with Fed.  To me it's his head more than anything.  I feel kind of helpless but I have to just accept things and appreciate what I was able to see when Fed was playing out of this world.  It was a great time.

  7. federer
