Yevgeny Giner has admitted that the Russian Premier League club are negotiating with the Madrid-based side and has urged Mark Gonzalez to hang up his boots this season
CSKA Moscow president, Yevgeny Giner, has confirmed that the Moscow-based club are negotiating with Real Madrid over the sale of Russian International striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denis-c10837 Cheryshev, this winter.
The Koni showed interest in Cheryshev, who got admission at the Spanish club’s academy eleven years ago, after he impressed in his debut appearance in Copa del Rey semi-final against CD Alcoyano back in September.
News in Russian media suggest that the Russian Premier League club are closely monitoring Cheryshev’s situation at Santiago Bernabeu given that the 22-year-old player is struggling to break into the first-team.
The winger-c*m-attacker has grown frustrated of lack of first-team opportunities after falling down the pecking order behind the likes of Christiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuan, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350.
If speculation is to be believed, the Armeytsy are ready to provide Cheryshev with an escape route from Spain to his motherland after offering him a bumper 2.5 million Euros annual wages.
Giner, who confirmed that the Moscow-based club will sign an attacker this winter after losing out on RSC Anderlecht’s Matias Suarez last summer, went on to praise Cheryshev following the player’s consistent performances at youth
level.
“Yes, we are interested in Cheryshev. I talked with Real’s president who is ready to release the player. But we are yet to make a concrete proposal. I think he will be a good addition to the squad as he is a good football player. I
think he should come back as he is not likely to get more playing time in Spain," the 52-year-old was quoted as saying.
Speaking on Mark Gonzalez, Giner advised the 28-year-old winger to hang up his boots following recurring injuries.
“I think that Gonzalez needs to hang up his boots and try something else. He is a good guy with a big heart but, unfortunately, things did not turn up as expected," he concluded.
Gonzalez made just 40 league appearances since completing a move to Moscow from Real Betis back in 2009.
