Ginny Weasley; Love or Hate?

Question

Everyone either hates or loves the scrappy red head-which side do you fall on?

I'm a hater. I don't know why but I just do. I think maybe it was that one lash out she had on Hermione during Halfblood Prince or maybe she was just too pretty in the books and I hate reading about pretty characters...

I like her. Even though she was in love with Harry, she did not go all to pieces waiting for him. She lived her life, and became a very strong female in the process.

I don't hate her, but I don't find her terribly interesting.  She never really seemed to have a purpose in the series besides being in love with Harry. I mean, she obviously got a crush on him in the first book, and that was it really. Okay, she's good at quidditch, but even that is Harry-related really isn't it?

I personally would have liked Harry to get off with Luna, who I thought was a much more interesting and complex character.

Well, at first i thought that got kinda mean during the books at some points. And then, she became sort of slu*y! going out with tons of guys! errrg..

But, i dont hate her. and i also dont love her. im in the middle.

Honestly , I'm not a lover nor a hater.

I don't actually have pretty much of a opinion over her.

She sounds a bit of Mary Sue to me.

She was pretty , she had almost all boys fall head over heels for her in school. She was most talented witch among the Weasley siblings , she was also good at sports (she was seeker like Harry in Quidich) , she had a good personality.

But to tell you the truth what annoyed me most was in HBP when Ron caught her making out with Dean.

She proved that she can be a bit of childish here.

I mean , Ron had every right to look after her , since he was her older brother. She yelled at him with no particular reason.

She should have been proud to have an older brother who looks out for her.

And he proved to be a reasonable and responsible toward her.

She's a very one dimensional character who fills a role without being fleshed out very well.

I'm a middle-of-the-road person. I don't know if she's pretty, I always had the feeling that Hermione would whip her if she wasn't so devoted to her books. Ginny always struck me as a lovelorn pathetic, until she wised up a bit and started being normal, but then again, Hermione always was more 'me'.
