Gio Gonzalez compares ambiance of Michael Morse and Ross Detwiler wedding ceremonies-MLB Update
Starting pitcher for Washington Nationals, Gio Gonzalez has shared his experiences as he attended weddings of his two teammates this offseason.
Both, Ross Detwiler and Michael Morse are married now.
Gonzalez has stated how different personality traits of these two were visible from contrasting set-ups of their wedding ceremonies.
Morse lived up to a showy and exuberant nature as his marriage event was glittery and reflective of an extravagant party.
On the other hand, Detwiler observed more or less simplicity in the way his wedding event was organised.
Gonzalez is not among their best friends but certainly his insight of personality characteristics of both of them is worth noticing.
Gonzalez was a spearhead of the Nationals’ rotation during the last season.
He won a great number of games as he went on to become strong contender for the Cy Young Award.
The 2012 season was his first with the Washington Nationals, which means he has not developed deep acquaintance with teammates yet.
However, it will not take a long time for him to make best friends, especially considering his extrovert nature.
Gonzalez is one of those players that always keep smile on their face. Everywhere he goes, he tries to crack jokes and spread laughter.
While talking about the weddings of Detwiler and Morse, Gonzalez said the following.
“And then you go to Ross Detwiler’s wedding. And it was just so, it was so…nice,” Gonzalez said. “Like, you couldn’t expect it. You see [Morse] has the big parade, the whole thing, it’s beautiful. And then you go to a nice church, a Christian-looking one.
It was super nice. So you get the best of both worlds, and you got to love it. You know, one’s from St. Louis and one’s from Miami. And you know what’s the difference when you see it.”
Despite Gonzalez was outstanding in the last season, he has yet to prove that he can be equally successful in the playoffs.
Throwing quality innings in the post-season will be taken as a challenge by Gonzalez. It will be interesting to see to what extent he can meet it in the upcoming season.
