The Bianconeri stopper has made it clear that he has never been approached by Real Madrid or the big-spending Manchester City, and remarked
on his title aspirations.
Even though the Italian stopper has been persistently linked with a move offshore, the defender has denied any such reports, claiming that he had never
tried to make contact with any club
He commented:
"Real Madrid and Manchester City? Obviously when you're a footballer your name is going to be mentioned in a transfer story every six months. However, I
have never received any concrete offers."
Chiellini’s claims at this point in time would be quite interesting to note given the fact that the football season is about to head to its final round.
Such statements would only add to the transfer speculation, as this might be deemed as a call to make an offer.
Diverting his attention from the transfer speculations and dismissing the truth behind the rumours, the central-defender went onto state their title credentials.
Earlier the Juventus head coach went on record to suggest that AC Milan were superior to Juve. He went on to state there was still some catching up to do by the Bianconeri to reach the level of the Rossoneri.
Even though the Old Lady has remained unbeaten after 29 rounds in the Serie A, they still trail by four points to the Milanello giants. The reason for this
is because of the large number of draws registered by the Lady Killers, and the higher number of wins for the Diavolo.
Chiellini was of the opinion that Antonio Conte was being pragmatic in his comments on where Juve currently stand, and further remarked:
"The Rossoneri are reigning champions and have a four-point lead. The coach is just being realistic when he says it will be difficult.”
Despite echoing the views made by the former Bari manager, the former Fiorentina defensive rock went on to suggest that they had not given up on the hopes
of landing the Scudetto, and went on to state:
"We are taking it one game at a time and are focusing on our next task against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 for now. We have to keep our feet on the ground.”
Napoli would be a tough nut to crack for Conte’s men, but Juve will be hoping to keep their title aspirations still alive.
