The Juventus centre-back has expressed his admiration for the former Rossoneri midfielder; meanwhile Carlo Ancelotti feels Juve needed him to progress.
The Bianconeri have been in great form this season and currently sit in the second-place of the Serie A standings.
They are the only team in the league to have maintained their unbeaten record this season. Besides that, the Turin giants have had the better off the Rossoneri in the two head to head matches already played
this season.
Chiellini was talking to the press ahead of their Saturday evening tie against AC Milan in the Serie A.
While talking to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Italian national defender highlighted the impact Pirlo has made this season, and believes that the Italian has been an important cog in the club’s success this
season. He remarked in his interview:
"Pirlo is the player who has really changed things at Juve. He really wanted to get back into the game, and has shown that he's an extraordinary person and a fantastic player."
Pirlo left A.C Milan after spending almost 10 years at the San Siro, and joined Antonio Conte’s side on a free transfer in the summer.
In Juve’s comparison with A.C Milan, Chiellini believes that his side does not possess a world-class individual player, but have quality players in all areas of the pitch. He was quoted to have said:
"We don't have a player like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, but we make up for it with our determination and our will to win."
Another person full of praise for Pirlo was former A.C Milan manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who believes that Juve will continue to prosper under Pirlo’s playmaking. The Paris Saint Germain boss believes that
the Italian international can carry on playing for five to six more years.
The Paris Saint-Germain boss said:
"For me, Pirlo is the best midfielder in the world. Signing him was crucial for Juventus. He will continue to play until he turns 40."
Antonio Conte will be looking towards his midfield maestro to provide the potency and killer instincts required to unlock the defence of his former employers.
