The Juventus centre-back has given his backing to the placement of the Roma vice-captain in the centre of Italy’s defence
while stating that he will do well.

Italy’s preparations have made it seem as if Prandelli is looking to opt for a three-man defence, with the Juve trio of Chiellini, Barzagli and
Bonucci, his preferred option. That plan has been jeopardised following Barzagli’s injury, nevertheless Prandelli has deployed De Rossi as the central defender in their training sessions.
The Bianconeri defender mentioned that he did not know for sure whether the Italian head coach is adamant over that system or not. The Turin star

“We are ready to play with three at the back and De Rossi has demonstrated that he knows what to do. I don’t think that the Coach has definitely
decided to try out a defence with three centre-backs, but that doesn’t matter.”

was not as bad as he once thought and that he was raring to go. Besides that, he further commented, on their performances and mentioned:
