There was great controversy at the end of the Italian Super Cup in Beijing, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boycotted the ending ceremony after they were discontent with the refereeing.
Tempers flared during the Italian Super Cup tie played back in August after the holders of the Coppa Italiana had gone on to lose the showcase held in Beijing. The match was a tie by the end of the match, which meant that the spectacle went to overtime.
There was much controversy in the match as one of the players of the Partenopei outfit was red carded in controversial circumstances during the match which gave an advantage to the Bianconeri outfit.
The Turin side went on to score twice in the extra time of the match, which saw them secure a victory by a two goal margin, as the match ended 4-2 on the day. Due to the refereeing decisions, the Neapolitan outfit sought to avoid attending the Super Cup
finale ceremony. This has since led to a lot of criticism, with a fine being imposed on the club for their indiscretions as well.
When Giovinco was questioned about this, he went on to remark that he was not bothered by their absence as he was too busy celebrating the victory with his teammates. The diminutive striker went on to comment that Juventus are habitual winners, and mentioned
that it must be annoying for people to see them winning all the time.
The Turin outfit have won the Scudetto in the previous season and also secured victory in the Italian Super Cup. At the current moment, they are aspiring to be successful in the Champions League. The player who is often referred to as the Atomic Ant went
on to state that the media plays its part in exaggerating incidents as well, but remarked that it did not bother him, he remarked:
“At the start I hadn’t even noticed they weren’t there! I was too happy with the victory to think about anything else. It is normal to see that when a team like Juve wins and keeps on winning, they are going to get irritating for the other sides. Because
of that, the media try to blow every tiny thing out of promotion. To be honest, I expected that and do not care. I hope to be irritating for another 10 years, then I can retire.”
Napoli would be looking to avenge their loss by beating the Scudetto holders on Saturday.
