Girl, interrupted?? when lisa says...?

you know in the movie when lisa says "he's your the-rapist sweetie, unless they're uh...giving you the shocks." then later she says "they gave me shocks again!" i'm assuming this is referring to electrotherapy but when i researched it it sounded like they used it in safe, secure ways the way it sounded in the movie was like the used it as punishment or the didn't put them to sleep before hand...lisa was all freaked, she called susanna jamie nad her eyes were unfocused...if you know anything about electrotherapy uses in the late 60s and early 70s or you are just a big fan of the movie please, please answer!

i dont get the shocks thing not sure what electrotherapy is.

it was wierd tho when she called susanna jamie and her eyes were really werd, i dont know what happend there....

Whether they did it safely or not for real in that era, it was dramatized for the movie.

I like that movie a lot.
