It is a unique name, and I think it is cute... but I agree... sounds like Areola... and junior high school kids will soon realize that from health class and so begins the torture...

also, there's the Disney character.... Ariel the Little Mermaid... which kids will realize at an even younger age... so the teasing has potential even in elementary school...

Kids are mean and cruel... so my theory is to not give them a head start by naming your child something that could be used as ammunition :)

Ohmysgosh! That name is soo sweet! It's beautiful and unique and perfect for a little girl. I think a good middle name would be Brooke. I just love the way Ariella Brooke sounds together. That's such a lovely name! Go for it! : ]

Ariella is very feminine name. It is strong and beautiful. Although it is not one of my favorites, I still find it adorable.

if i was you, id name your daughter Marley, i think its suitable for a baby and for an adult. but it might be weird when she is older and her friends call her ariella...its not weird for a parent to call a kid that, but i dunno....you gotta think of a name that wont give her trouble in the future

Ariel is pretty common and I like the la ending to it to make it unique. It's pretty but not so odd that people won't mispronounce her name all the time.
