Girl Problems?! Girls only please!

I'm 14 and i'm on the 1st day on the "time of month". i have the most painful cramps! i'm using a hot water bottle but that doesnt help! anything else i can do? thanks x

  1. well what's works for me is not eating nothing sour like chile, lemon, watermelon, bananas, Orange, and take a relaxing bath and do some exercise.


  2. im on the 4th day of mines! nd my cramps feel better now on the 1st day they were unbearable!!!!!!!!!!!! i had to go 2 the emergency room.... they gave me ivprofen of how ever its spelt nd it workd really wellll... soo good luck and doesnt womanhood suck?

  3. i'm 14 and have the same problem.  usually just laying on my stomach and stretching helps along with ibuprofen and a hot bath.  feel better soon!

  4. A hot bath never helped me but try it it may help. Drink a lot of water. Try some tea. Stay away from foods that give you gas. Like beans. I find my cramps are out of control when I have to p**p. That's when they share the same space inside. I take a natural sedative called Valerian Root. Have some thing comfortable and warm to eat like soup, and curl up with a pillow to push my belly in and fall asleep watching a movie.

    For God's sake you're only 14 you don't need to get prescribed pain medication from a doctor for cramps. If they're that bad go to the emergency room of your local hospital and get checked out.

      One last thing, are you using tampons? If you are you may be blocking the blood from flowing. That can make you miserable. Try using pads for your heavy flow, and small tampons for your light days.

  5. i used to get them really bad, still do, i find 2 panadol, when the pain gets really bad, a hot water bottle also helps, other than that just try make your self comfortable and try distract yourself with music, etc....and remember, its not forever,

  6. i had them seriosuly bad and woke up at 3am crying i coudlnt move, but the best thing is to have some pain killers or something and a hot water bottle on your stomach

  7. hey im thirteen im sorry about your pain if you go to the pharmacie  then they will give you some tablets dont be ashamed just do it :)


  8. Take Ibuprofen rather than paracetamol (If you are permitted to, people with athsma etc shouldn't) i find that helps alot, and a hot bath works far better than a hot water bottle!

    edit: Co-Dihydromol is the best for cramps in abdominal area, ask your doctor as it can only be prescribed!

  9. Try some Midol. That always helps my cramps. Also, try taking a long, hot bath. It always helps me if I lay on my stomach too.

  10. exercise is a relieve to the cramps believe it or not :)

    and watermelon helps too to be honest

    but if that does not work then paracetamol(tablets) always do the job

    it tells u on the pack how many to take etc

  11. Paracetamol help me. Take 2 every 4 hours, also have a long hot bath. It never fails. x

  12. Talk to your doctor and see if he can prescribe something for you. Don't just take anything in case you are allergic to something.

  13. do some stretches, go for a short walk.  take an ibuprofin, and a hot bath.  all will help.  

  14. if there always this bad u cood consider goin on the pill for a few months...thts wat im doin right now to regulate them n 'calm them down'.....also it helps acne.

    the pill isnt only for the sexually active, it can b used for other reasons too

    i wood recomend it...jst get a docs appointment

    by now i usually am all moody n stuff....bt so far nothing!!! also ma acne is calming down lots and im protected from pregnancy! GREAT!

  15. There is a special tablet called Feminax. its been made 4 the use of period pains purposely, and it blocks the prostglandins that cause the pain. Dont take paracetemol, use this, its much better( I know! )

    Hot water bottles really help, and take a warm bath and lie on ur tummy to relieve the pain.

    Remember, having periods is all part of being a woman!! Enjoy it!

  17. When I get mine, I usually cut back on the sugar intake and try some light exercises. Also, lying in fetal position relieves some cramps.  

  18. I have found that taking a Tylenol once in the morning and once at night relieves pains, and also this shortens your period!!!

  19. midol is a god send, i'm your age and i know how you feel, midol or pamprin are amazing. also use a hot pad or a hot patch/icy hot patch, you can get thoose at any local drug store.

  20. Most girls take Tylenol, when actually there are ingredients in Advil/ibuprofen that relax muscles (they're not in Tylenol though). I take two of those and I try to get on my feet, since exercising actually does help (despite the desire to lay down and curl up in a ball). Hope you feel better soon =]

  22. Excersizing actually relieves cramping, Bubble bath, Hot pack, Pain reliever medicin (Advil, or specific ones especially for cramping like pamperin is one I think, and midol or something.)

  25. its silly but it really worked for me lay on your back with your legs on the sofa so they are higher than your head it should ease of try hot water bottle on your back..........good luck

    go to your doctor and get prescribed some strong painkillers ( sorry forgot what they're called)

My advice just lay down on ur bed or sumthin and just eat like chocolate and other stuff thts rely sweet usally wen im about 2 start i eat chocolate and eat other sweets and ya like the others said take a nice hot bath but honestly my opinion 2 ya is i'd probably take a nice hot shower and just put the hot water towards u and it mite make u feel a little better trust me i know it ****** suxx being a women but just hang in there and oh ya my other advice is wear ur pjs lol the comfurtable 1s u mite like and maybe just chill watch a movie watch tv read a book and just try 2 get ur mind off of the d**n cramping trust me it hurts like h**l i know i usally cry evrytym i have mine they ****** suck!! cuz u can nvr move lol

  29. My Cramps Are h**l. What I Do Is Take Pills. But I Throw It Up. I Dont Know Why. My Body Just Dont Like Them. After I Throw It Up I Fall Asleep. So I'll Just Say Try Going To Sleep.

  30. Drink peppermint tea, go for walks, and try to exercise! Believe it or not,those help to relax you muscles!

  31. I get really bad preiod pains too, but dont lay there with a hot water bottle, it will make the pain worse. And paracetamol doesnt do me any good either. You need to excercise. We all know thats the last thing we wanna do when we've got the terrible pains but even just going for a walk can help. I also went to the doctors about mine, and she gave some tablets. Its not the pill or anything, it just regulates my period and helps the contractions (which cause the pain) . Ive also been told that chocolate can help, but im not sure if thats true. hope this helped :) x
