Girl sending mixed signals?

Mixed Signals? Not sure. I know this girl at school, whenever we are in person she smiles at me and even sits with me in the library (her choice) when we are doing our homework. She is from a different country and has only known english for a few years. I got her number, however whenever I text her she always responds with one word "yea" "no" etc...In my past experiences girls who like you usually respond with a little more than one word. Not sure what's going on here, can anyone help?

maybe you should try talking on the phone with her instead. That way you can actually talk. some people, believe it or not, are not that into texting. i've known people who will talk for hours, but if you text  them they will only respond with one word answers like "ya", "cool', "sure". so, i say give her a chance. so, try calling her or e-mailing her, messaging her on myspace. if she doesn't have a myspace, offer to help her make one. good luck!!

people from other countries communicate differently. if she sits with you and smiles at you your good to go.

hmm. idk i like to keep the conversation going in im intrested. but i know some girls play hard to get. she might not like texting cause her language.. i really dunno :/

how can you assume that she likes you more than just a friend if all she ever did was smile at you and sits with you in the library? how do you know she's not just being friendly?

Maybe because she has known english only for a couple of years that's why she is only responding to your messages with one word. Usually girls play hard to get. It could also be possible that she is shy to talk to you, i know from my personal experience that sometimes a girl is shy when it comes to the guy she has feelings for.

I'm a girl, I txt in sentences unless I don't want to talk to that person or if i am busy.

you are right. girls who like you do respond with sentances to try and keep the convo going. but you just said she learned english so this might be the only way for her to respond. so she still may like you. just be nice and flrty with her when she sits with you. and when she smiles at you smile back. good luck and just see where it takes you. shes new to the whole english thing so give her some credit and time. she may just like you! good luck!
