Girl travelling the world in the 21st century........?????

i have always been independent, and a bit of a tomboy and although i have hundreds of friends i do enjoy time by myself..

and so i want to go travelling alone for a couple of years i grew up listening to my dad telling me stories about his travels, and cant wait to go ice dipping in russia or bull running in spain, and travelling in alittle hippie van and slipping under the stars and on beaches, in haystacks etc.. just like my dad the only difference is im a young attractive girl, and the world isnt the same place it was in the eighties, and unless i carry a gun with me at all time(which i am not sure i can) i dont know what to do??? its all i want to go travelling but will i be alright???

I'm in the same position...

Definitely stay smart. Try taking a martial arts class...make sure you stay in contact with people you know...carry a knife, because like you said: you can't always carry a gun.  As much as it would be smart to take someone with you - I understand not wanting to.  Be careful; and live life to its fullest.

Whatever happens is meant to be.

Also, maybe you've seen the movie or read the book "Into The Wild"

go on try it out.. not only that you are the only one did that..most of my friends " girls" did that too..it is called backpacking. It is fun.. enjoy..:-)
