I just got my first period ever yesterday. I'm 14.

But like, it always runs into my butt and stuff and sometimes comes out to the top of my underwear and gets on my underwear.

It's really annoying.

How do I make it stop?!?!

UGH IDK WHAT TO DO!

I hardly know how to put pads in and I'm scared to use a tampon.

Just give me any advice on periods at all I'm so mad right now.

Also, my friend is coming over today.. so.. ugh..

  1. what? you "hardly" know how to use a pad!!!???!!!!! use a pad! just peel of the sticky paper on the back, oplace it firmly on your underwear, its simple girl!

  2. Get some longer pads, and follow the instructions.

Tampons are excellent to use, especially if you are physically active and a must have for water sports.  I've used them since age 11, and I'm 34 now, and prefer them over pads.

  3. Chocolate hun :)

at this time of the month and the week before a lil bit of chocolate goes a long way :)

    longer pads maybe??

talk to your mum you probably haven't got long pads yet have you?

make sure the pads cover everywhere that you're gonna get blood flow

you will get mood swings during your period which is why I suggested chocolate - It does help.

  4. Buy longer pads. Like maxi pads. It will help protect your underwear from getting blood on it. The reason your period is leaking to your butt and to the front is because the positions your are in. When you lay down, the blood leaks backwards and if you lay on your stomach it leaks forward. So there really is no way of stopping it from going in different directions but you can use longer pads to stop it from getting on your underwear. If you cannot buy some today you can see if your mom or whomever you live with has longer ones or try using two pads. One further back and one more near the front. It's okay if they overlap a little bit. Goodluck, and welcome to womanhood!

  5. if your period is a heavy flow (sounds like it is) then you'd be wise to buy thicker pads. personally, i like the overnight pads for a couple days then i can start using the regular ones. the overnight ones are thicker and longer, so they catch all that runaway stuff.

  6. Are you wearing a pad? If not i wonder why it is doing that. You need to tell your mom so maybe she can go get you some Maxi pads

  7. you need a trusted female role model.... mom, aunt, sister or friend to talk and help you.  if your menstrual flow is leaking out like you described (which can happen) then you need to be changing your pad more often.  if its happening when you are sleeping....well that can happen if you are not wearing tampons.  it is annoying!  if you feel comfortable talking to your friend who is coming over today, do that.

  8. see if you can get a pad that has wings, and is maybe a little longer than a regular. also... i know youre new to it, but tampons are a girl's best friend, trust me, its worth trying.

  9. Well first of all i'm 13 and i got my period this year. you can't really stop the blood from running to you butt( i know it is annoying!!) but if you want to help  wear long pads. tampons r really easy to use, the very first time though it hurts but then you get use to it. to put pads in its pretty east just take the back off and place it in your underwear straight and properly. Good Luck!!!
