  1. nooooo

  2. Well, I am not 12-17- I am 31, but I remember when I got my period at 12 I definantly did not want to celebrate.  If I had a daughter, I would teach her to be very comfortable with her body, and yes we would probably celebrate the coming of her menses.

  3. no way! i just got my period and my mom made a big deal out of it! it waz totally humiliating- but you could silently celebrate with something like a doorknob with a lock or letting her wear more makeup- dats wat my mom did

  4. I am 13, and I would celebrate.  When you get your period you are a woman, that is a milestone in every girls' life!!!  Plus some girls have discomfort with their period, so I think that by celebrating things aren't so uncomfortable as they feel. If you know what I mean??

    lol  :)

  5. I would in private, no need to embarrass her lol =]

  6. Depends on her personality.  There are some girls who are totally excited about it and would enjoy 'celebrating' with their mother and there are others (such as me when I was younger) who would have been horrified if my mom wanted to celebrate it.
