It is possible to quit anything, if you really want to.  But as with any habit, it can be very difficult to quit.  I found that if I am having a lot of good s*x, I have less urge to m********e.  But the less satisfying the s*x I am having the more I need to m********e.  There are times when you are between relationships during which masturbation is safer than having s*x with random men.
