i've played lacrosse for 10 yrs, assistant coached for the 1st time last year and will be head coach come this season...my high school girls had a big problem with being motivated, finding drive & team unity/chemistry. I honestly feel like i tried some much with me and i want to take a different approach this year....especially since it'll be all me, i'll have the power to.

do you have any ideas to get them kicking? working together? team bonding ideas? different types of practices?! i'm up for anything!!

  1. What my coach did was he said if we went of .500 we would all get ice cream and a hummer ride at the end of the season and we ended up going 10-4 we had a great year. Give them a reward to work for. Also get to know your players on the long bus rides thats always a good idea.

  2. During offseason let your captains run conditioning sessions. Helps team bond with captains.

Spaghetti dinner the night before the first game.

Take a trip to watch a local college game (mens or womens).

Catchy slogan on some tshirts/under armor.

Hard to say.  When I played, by the time we got to V, we had all pretty much bonded by then as most all of us went through Freshman, and JV together.  Whatever you decide keep it fun, and good luck.
