Give him the kiss of life? Even if he smelt of gin and had stubble on his chin? And his clothes smelt of urine? And you were pretty sure that he would die if you didn't?

And you had left your phone at home?

I don't really know. Why the kiss of life though?

If he was dyeing then YES i would.

  6. Yes, I would give him the kiss of life with my jumper over his mouth though, he could have hepatitis for all I know so I'd play it safe.

  7. i would be like OMGGGS then run away and scream.

  8. no, I would just call an ambulance for help.

  9. Hello,

If it was you that collapsed would you appreciate it if a smelly old street person saved your life? Mother Teresa had no problem picking the lowest of the low of the streets of India long before cell phones, reviving them, cleaning their barf and posteriors and looking after them as well.

    Cheers,

Next?: Some countries like Canada and Britain have a good Samaritan act which protects you if you are trying to save a life. For example if I pull a person out of a crashed, burning vehicle and he suffers paralysis because his back was fractured and I moved him, I cannot get sued over that.

One time in court in Halifax, Nova Scotia years ago a fellow who was going up in flames in a Volkswagen incident got pulled out but in the mess he got a broken rib and finger.

The fellow pulling him out got a lot of second degree burns.

The driver tried suing but in court the judge just screamed at him calling him a SOB that deserved to be left in the car to roast and the case was thrown out of court.

  10. You aren't going to believe this but that is pretty much how the guy looked that needed CPR back in the early 80's that i tried to help out.

i was grocery shopping and they asked for someone to go outside the store because a man needed CPR. i had just taken a class in it because my friends baby boy almost drowned in our apt. complex and being a young mom myself, I thought it was a good thing to know.

i never had that image of a bummy looking man when I thought about helping someone.

he was in his 50's or 60's, unshaven( my face got all red and sore, gross!) overweight with a dirty t-shirt on.His face was all purple and red and swollen looking. I almost went back into the store and was going to forget the whole thing but my good nature came through.

i found out the next day the he died anyways, but at least I know I did my best to help out, he was too far gone before help arrived.

Edit:I have looked at the above answers and am pretty much disgusted by many of the posters.

Back when I was trying to help that man, of course AIDS was new in the media and we didn't know how you could catch it, not by mouth to mouth as we know nowadays. Anyways, it was gross and I was a silly Valley Girl at the time but if you are human, you must help another person no matter what the outcome.I couldn't live with myself if I turned my back on another human or even an animal in distress. Maybe he was someone's husband or father, for sure he was someones son.

  11. Erm, nope. Sorry, I is a class "A" nasty girl :-(

  12. If you were an alcoholic tramp or bag lady would you want someone to give you the kiss of life in order to prevent your death?

  13. yes, as a fellow human being he deserves the chance of life, and if I could help him then I would.  Besides, who knows what happened in his life to send him on that path?  There but for the grace of God.

  14. Nope. I don't want to catch AIDS or some other disease. I would call 911 and let them deal with it. PLus, one good samaritan did do mouth to mouth for someone who turtned around and sued them. "No good deed goes unpunished."

  15. i dont know how to do that, i would run for help or try to shake him awake. im not trained in first aid or cpr.
