I'm a cheeleader and also I've got that "monthly gift" lol. I haven't tried tampons because I'm scared that I'll forget it or something and might get TSS! lol yeah I'm like that and I was wondering if using pads were okay for cheerleading? And oh yeah I'm a flier.

  1. Yeah pads should be fine - just wear bloomers or something to make sure they stay in place. If your not comfortable with the idea of using tampons then don't.

  2. Well, you can use pads for cheer leading, but tampons are way better. I would suggest using pantie liners along with your tampon. If your flow is really really heavy though, you can probably wear a pad with your tampon. That's all the advice I'm giving you.

  3. Don't worry about forgetting tampons or anything. I do it all the time, and I'm fine, lol.

And, they're so much more comfortable.

    I really don't suggest pads.

    Because...well...this is really gross

but when you laugh and stuff, and especially since you're a flier...you can like...feel it. idk. ew that was gross but yeah.

  4. LOL to Jordaaaay!

but you wont get TSS unless you leave the tampon in for more than 8 hours and expose yourself to that .  You will know you have your period, you can't forget that, so then you will know you have a tampon in and need to change it.  Set your cell phone, or watch to remind you until you get used to wearing tampons.  As a former cheerleader I can not imagine doing flips, cartwheels, jumping and splitting my legs open with a pad on.  Just use the tampon for the cheerleading events then take it out and use pads when it is over.  But make sure to use a pantyliner so you won't have any accidents.

  5. I know exactly how you feel about the tampons thing, i was like that at first too. But I strongly suggest you try using them, trust me you wont forget, its hard to explain but you can actually feel when it needs to be changed because your stomach starts feeling odd. If thats not the case for you, just pay attention to time. I hope everything works out. Pads are possible, but tampons are ALOT easier. good luck girly!! :)

  6. Well, Tss is really rare, and you can only get it if you leave your tampon in for 10 hours or so. You'll remember to change it, believe me. And a pad won't work, unless your period is super light and you don't mind getting blood all over your legs while you do cartwheels and such.

  7. well pads would be okay, but i strongly suggest that you use a tampon too. its not that scary, read the instructions on the box and you'll be fine sweetie

  8. Do you  have your period yet. Well pads are good but it moves while you jump and all sorts but i prefur Tampons and NO u won't get TSS and tampons aren't scary or anything but if you do use Tampons read the instructions it's just a matter to get used to your body

  9. well ive never been a cheerleader but im in marching band and even that gets uncomfortable w/pads.  i could imagine doing all that flipping and jumping with one.  so yeah, tampons are good.  you most likely wont forget its in there and TSS is pretty rare.

  10. you should use a tampon, pads bother me just in everyday life and they would REALLY bother me if i was trying to do anything athletic. i used to worry about forgetting about them too, but unless you're completely absent minded, you probably won't! just don't leave it in for longer than 8 hours max! trust me, you'll never want to go back to pads after tampons, you can't even tell they're there!

  11. OK, definetely use tampons.

Dont worry about TSS, just be very hygenic, making sure you wash your hands before use and after.

There should be more info on TSS on the tampon package.

    Good luck!!!

  12. Use tampons. I recoment the tampex sports. And don't worry about TSS, just don't leave it in for more then 6 hours.... lol. If you use a pad you run a big chance of leaking.

  13. well i find that when i wear pad it gets me scared that sum1 might see the padding so i just play it safe an wear tampons
