Girls Playing Football & Getting Hit?

Question

WHY IS IT SUCH A BIG DEAL???? I am a girl, to start off. I love to play football, and i dont care if any guys punch me or hit me hard. It was horrible when i first tried to play tackle with guys and all they said was "Uh.. no you cant really play becuase we dont want to hurt you." I was like, WHAT??

Well, its different now and guys dont care if i play tackle with them cuase they arent afraid to hit ME. But the other girls, they cant cuase there a GIRL?? What is up with that?

So i want to know how you feel. I always get mad when someone says girls cant play sports too well or 'its not right to hit a girl'. There is nothing wrong with that, or atleast i think so. So, how do u feel??

There are competitions for girls as well as there are competitions for boys.

It's OK to have boys & girls playing in the same teams & against others when it is only kids playing but after the age of 10 or so it reverts to just boys or just girls teams - & rightly so.

When it reaches the adult stage females just can't compete with men in any of the football codes. There WOULD be serious injuries to the "weaker s*x" if it was allowed to happen.

Stick to your girls teams & leave the guys to their own!

It isn't a big deal, although, girls these days are more regarded as girls who only like fashion makeup etc. like a stereotype.

Just beause We aren't as big or muscley, doesn't mean we suck as sports, especially contact sport. Playing against guys are easy at school because my height (im teeny) means i can slip through them, whithout any contact. Its a good thing!

I'm a girl and love to play footy aswell. I think it's fun as to play. Although about a month ago I was playing with the lads... and I got tackled, landed wrong, snapped my ACL (a ligament behind my knee) and now I'm just recovering from having a knee reconstruction.  All because of that footy game. Though amazingly... I don't regret playing at all... it's great to play!!!-For BOTH girls and guys. To bad I now can't walk and I'll be off sport for a year :(

I can understand guys not wanting to hit you because generally guys are bigger and more muscular than girls. And about other girls hitting you? I think it's just because most girls are always afraid that other girls won't like them and are gonna talk about them and all that. So they don't wanna hit other girls for (basically) no reason, especially if they are smaller. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it though.

firstly i so agree...it makes me full mad when guys say oh you cant do this cos your a girl...i reckon if we are willing to do anything that could hurt us...let us do it..!! then its our problem like come on man...i also reckon that guys use that as an excuse cos they are scared we could beat them at something they are supposed to be the best at..!!

Guys are afraid to tackle girls, because of the values we have instilled into us from birth. It's regardless of whether or not the girls can handle it. And usually once boys hit puberty, girls run the risk of being hurt, since we gain both height and muscle mass.
